One Time Classes

Wheel Throwing
Hand-Building

Our one-time classes offer a fun introduction to working with clay — no experience required! Each 1.5-hour session includes:

Basic instruction and guidance
Use of all necessary tools
As much clay as you’d like to use

When wheel throwing, you’ll work with 1.5 lbs of clay and may keep one piece for free. If you’d like to keep additional pieces, each is $10.

Once your piece is complete, you’ll choose your dipping glaze, and our team will glaze and fire your work for you.

You’ll receive an email within 4 weeks or less with a schedule to pick up your finished piece.

Each class concludes with a 15-minute cleanup period, and we kindly ask that all students participate.

Please note: Finished work will be held for 4 weeks after you receive your email notification. Unclaimed pieces will be donated.

WORKSHOPS

Semester Courses

It is not required to have taken a One Time Wheel session before enrolling. All beginners and intermediate students are encouraged to join a semester course to fully immerse themselves in the foundations of wheel throwing.

We offer two levels of wheel throwing:

Beginner Level I
Beginner Level II

& Beginner Level Hand Building
Each class meets once a week for 2 hours, over a 6-week session.

Not Included

Please bring your own tools, towel, and apron
Tool kits are available for purchase for $20

Firing fees are $0.05 per cubic inch (covers both bisque and glaze firings)
Additional clay may be purchased, including porcelain

SEMESTER CLASSES

SEMESTER WHEEL THROWING CLASS BEGINNER LEVEL I

FEE $325 FOR 6 WEEKS 2 hrs PER CLASS

Perfect for beginners!

Learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, trimming, and creating simple functional pottery. Students will also learn underglazing and dipping glaze techniques and will glaze their own work during the final session.

SEMESTER WHEEL CLASS BEGINNER LEVEL II

FEE $325 FOR 6 WEEKS 2 hrs PER CLASS

For students ready to move beyond the basics!

Refine your centering and pulling skills while learning forms beyond the cylinder. Explore more advanced shaping techniques and expand your glazing knowledge to create unique surface effects.

Prerequisite: Completion of at least two Beginner (Level I) wheel throwing classes.

SEMESTER HAND BUILDING CLASS BEGINNER LEVEL Level I and II

FEE $305 FOR 6 WEEKS 2 hrs. PER CLASS

Hands on instructions for hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab-building, and carving — as well as assisting students in developing projects of their own.

Decorating projects may include sgraffito using underglazes, transfer stamps, other decorative tools, and studio dipping glazes.

COMPLETE POTTERY CLASS: Wheel & Handbuilding

FEE $435 FOR 8 WEEKS 2 hrs. PER CLASS

Experience the best of both worlds in this comprehensive pottery class designed for beginners and intermediate students alike. This course combines an introduction to wheel throwing with handbuilding techniques, giving you the opportunity to explore the full range of ceramic making. The class is intentionally flexible, with instruction alternating between wheel throwing, handbuilding, and projects that incorporate both methods.

Many projects begin on the pottery wheel and are completed at the handbuilding table, allowing you to learn how these techniques work together. Projects may include berry bowls, mugs with handles, travel mugs, serving pieces, and more.

CREATIVE OPEN CLAY SESSION -Play with clay

Selected Fridays at 5:00 PM
Create anything you'd like using 1 lb. of clay! Perfect for beginners, returning students, or experienced makers who have an idea in mind and enjoy creating with minimal guidance.
Clay and tools are included. Your first finished piece is FREE, and additional pieces are $10 each. If time allows, you may paint your piece with underglazes, or simply choose a glaze color and we'll glaze and fire it for you.

SUNDAY CLAY ESCAPE

FEE $75 2 hrs. per person
Hybrid Wheel Throwing & Hand Building
Sundays at 2:00 PM
Leave your phone behind and enjoy two relaxing hours with clay. This beginner-friendly class starts on the wheel and finishes with hand shaping, allowing you to personalize your piece. Each Sunday features a new theme, with step-by-step instruction from Marii in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
Includes: One finished piece FREE, your choice of glaze color, and glazing and firing. Additional pieces are $10 each.
